BATON ROUGE, LA—The Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools (LAPCS) will celebrate National Charter Schools Week from May 11-17, 2025, to honor the 3.7 million students, 8,150 public charter schools, 251,000 dedicated teachers, and
hundreds of lawmakers who make up the national charter school community.
This year also marks the 30th Anniversary of charter law in Louisiana. Today, 151 charter schools in our state serve over 97,000 students.
“National Charter Schools Week encourages our community to celebrate the many ways charter schools meet the unique needs of millions of students and set them on a path for success,” says Starlee Coleman, President and CEO of The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. “We’re proud to celebrate the Charter Schools Program and how it has had a profound impact on millions of students over the past 30 years.”
