School choice supporters tout education options

Louisiana school choice supporters said more parents need to speak up about the benefits in their families as a result of choosing their child’s educational path.
With the traditional public school system, private and parochial schools, charters, virtual academies and schools that accept voucher students, Lafayette is a bit of a “ground zero” for the school choice movement, said Sarah Vandergriff, legal director for the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools.
