Each year, LAPCS recognizes and celebrates excellence in the Louisiana charter school movement through the Charter School Excellence Awards.

Four Louisiana Charter School Excellence Awards will be presented at the LAPCS annual conference on Thursday, December 15, 2022:

  1. The Community Roots Award recognizes a Louisiana charter school that demonstrates a commitment to community engagement by developing partnerships with organizations, programs, and individuals from outside their school building to meet better the needs of their students, teachers, and overall school community. Please tell us who you think is leading the way!

  2. The Excellence in Governance Award recognizes a charter school board member or an entire charter school board for exemplary service to their school, students, and families. Let us know who you think models exceptional charter school governance!

  3. Innovation and autonomy are crucial to charter school success. The Innovative Education Award recognizes a charter school that has successfully implemented an innovative practice in academics, finance & operations, or governance that has moved the school forward positively. Nominate a leader in innovation today!

  4. LAPCS’ Charter PROPS [Public Relations Opportunities for Positive Storytelling] Program provides charter schools support in communications and advocacy.
