There are currently 41 Type 2 Charter Schools statewide, serving approximately 25,000 students. Many of which have some of the most innovative school missions in the state, including:
Serving military families;
Providing foreign-language immersion programs;
Alternative second-chance programs for students who previously dropped out of school;
Online schooling for families who need flexibility;
Programs specifically designed to educate and remediate students with dyslexia; and,
Others who simply offer a public education option for families when a traditional setting does not work.
