LOCATING TYPE 2 PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS IN LOUISIANA

There are currently 41 Type 2 Charter Schools statewide, serving approximately 25,000 students. Many of which have some of the most innovative school missions in the state, including:

1. Serving military families;

2. Providing foreign-language immersion programs;

3. Alternative second-chance programs for students who previously dropped out of school;

4. Online schooling for families who need flexibility;

5. Programs specifically designed to educate and remediate students with dyslexia; and,

6. Others who simply offer a public education option for families when a traditional setting does not work.
